New Look + Aluminum

A work truck is going to get beat up over its lifetime, but that doesn’t mean it has to be ugly. The 2017 F-250 Super Duty has an all new exterior design that is being raved about. The blocky and modern look is unlike any other truck on the road. And now that the Super Duty line of trucks has a primarily military-grade aluminum alloy body, along with steel framing in key areas, which means this truck is more rugged than ever. The aluminum also helps the truck stay lean, helping with fuel economy.

Safety

Whether you’re towing a heavy load on the highway, or hauling a load of gravel on a jobsite, trusting your truck to keep you, your passengers and your load safe is top priority. The F-250 has been awarded a 5-Star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) - the first time they’ve awarded a perfect rating for a heavy duty pickup truck.

Ford has also included a list of new safety features in the F-250 Super Duty, including a multi-camera system that provides a 360 degree view of the truck and its load, making backing up easier and safer.

“Like the F-150, Ford turned to high-strength, military-grade aluminum to shave weight, shedding up to 350 pounds from the pickup truck. The weight savings was then reinvested into an all-new fully boxed frame that is more than 95-percent high-strength steel and up to 24 times stiffer than the previous frame. There’s also plenty of high-tech features to boost convenience and safety, like a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control with collision mitigation, lane-keeping alert and inflatable seatbelts.” - AutoGuide
